MS Car Accidents or Wrecks

  • Q:

What is the Mississippi statute of limitations for a Mississippi Car Accident or Car Wreck?

    A:

Mississippi has varying statutes of limitations on car wrecks and accidents.  The statute of limitations in Mississippi for a car wreck depends on a number of different facts.  For example, the statute may be as short as one year.  On the other hand, the statute of limitations may be as long as three years.

This will depend on the facts of the case.

Therefore, if there is a one year statute of limitations on a Mississippi Car Wreck or Accident, then after one year from the date of the accident, we cannot make a claim against the person that caused the wreck.

Again, please note that once the time limit runs (the statute of limitations) you cannot pursue a claim for your injuries in Mississippi.  In other words, if the time limit on the statute of limitations runs, you will be forever barred from any recovery.  Please call or email Mississippi Car Wreck Attorney Jay Foster to discuss the statute of limitations for any Mississippi car wreck.  You can call or email Jay Foster by clicking here.
