Job In Ocean Springs, Mississippi?

You want a job in Ocean Springs?

You’ve come to the right place.  We are always looking for good employees.  We are looking for the right “fit.”  So, if you’re looking for a job, read below:

Awesome Law Office Job!  No Legal Experience Necessary!

Thank you for responding to our advertisement for a Legal Administrative Assistant for our firm.  If you’re the right candidate, this job has the potential for management.  We are very busy and you probably are too.  So, rather than waste each other’s time, we’ve clearly set out below what this position is all about so that even before you decide to send us a resume, you make the decision that this position is a “good fit” for you.  This job will NOT be the right fit for everyone.  However, it will be the “PERFECT JOB” for someone.  We’ve hired most of our employees with this rather unusual method.

Job In Ocean Springs

Background Information.

You should know a little bit about us before considering us for a job in Ocean Springs.  I have been practicing law since 1994.  I represent people who get hurt against insurance companies.  In other words, we represent individuals against insurance companies.  Our clients are individuals and families who have suffered an injury.  We are passionate about our work and strive every day to please our clients.  We practice law in just four areas: car wrecks, trucking accidents (an 18 wheeler hits you), longshore accidents, and workers compensation accidents.  Our law practice is growing by leaps and bounds.

What Are The Most Important Attributes Of The Person Who Is Right For This Position?

Ability to Follow Our Systems.  We have certain systems in place that keep us organized.  If you don’t like following a system, this is probably not the job for you.

Cooperative Attitude.  You responsibilities will be diverse and wide-ranging.  Some will be complicated and some will seem mundane, but all are necessary for our ability to represent our clients.  Your good nature and appreciation of professionalism is essential.  We want happy, upbeat people working with us.  If you do not have a positive attitude this is not the job for you.  If there are pictures of you on the internet getting drunk and acting stupid, this is not the job for you.

Adaptability.  As is often the case with small law firms, there is no rigid job description.  At various times you have to pitch in for others.  As we grow, things will change.  If you need to know exactly what your duties are, this is not the place for you.

Diligence.  We are looking for someone who pays attention to detail.  You must also have a great command of the English language, both written and spoken.  We can’t cringe when you are unable to speak or write English well.  Being careful and asking lots of questions is vital.

Creativity.  Every day, we have problems to solve, both big and small.  We need someone who can identify a problem and figure out an efficient way to get it solved.  You will find this is a place where we are not afraid to “think outside the box.”  A lot of companies preach this.  We do it.

Technologically Literate.  You must be computer literate.  I have written on the “paperless office” and I am probably the most technologically literate law office in this State.  We use a number of interesting programs but one program that you must be proficient at from the beginning is Microsoft Outlook 2013.  However, we need to make sure you are not afraid of technology.  If you do not know the difference between a right and left mouse click, then we do not have time to teach you and this job is not for you.  On the other hand, if you are someone who just “gets it” with computers, you will be perfect.

Timeliness.  If you are the type of person that is not on time or always has a great excuse about why you aren’t on time, then this job is not for you.  Don’t waste your time or ours.

Attendance.  If you are the type of person that always misses work or always has a great excuse about why you aren’t at work, then this job is not for you.  Don’t waste your time or ours.

Typing.  While there is no dictation here, this is an office job so you must be able to type well.  If you can’t type at least 50 words per minute, this is not the job for you.  Please note that a typing test will be given so don’t waste your time or our time if you can’t type at least 50 words per minute.

So what are your responsibilities?

* You will be one of the first faces our clients see when they walk through the door and one of the first voices our clients hear when they call our law firm.  Your positive attitude and smiling face is crucial.

* You will provide ongoing assistance to an attorney which includes filing, scanning, writing letters, making phone calls and keep electronic data up to date.

* You will provide general office support for the firm which may include ensuring the office is presentable for client conferences, filing documents with the court, ordering supplies, etc.

* You will assist in receiving and distributing daily mail and outgoing mail.

* You will follow our systems for how things are done.

Job In Ocean Springs

We are organized.  We won’t come to you at 5:00 p.m. and tell you that we have an “emergency” and need you to stick around.  This is why our employees love their job in Ocean Springs.

We are looking for the best person for the job and we don’t feel obligated to do things like other firms do in terms of job experience and education, etc.  If you meet the other “requirements” set out above, then you might be the best person for the job.

You can read more information about my law firm here on our website.  Please spend some time on our site before sending us your resume.   If you are interested in this position, please do not email your resume to johnatedwardslaw.com but instead email your resume to receptionistatjayfosterlaw.com.  Please make sure you put the word resume in the subject of your email and make sure you indicate in your cover letter that you have read and agree to the terms in this job offer.  If you fax, mail, call or visit our office, we’ll assume that you don’t pay attention to detail and you’ll be automatically disqualified.

Thank you very much.
