In Target Store Hero Saves Girl’s Life And Target Sues Him

Target Sues Hero

I tell you, I think some days that I’ve been Rip Van Winkle and woke up years later to find myself in an alternate Universe.

How in the heck this hero gets sued, I don’t know.

Before, I get into that, let me say something that I say this all the time.

Lawyers wonder why we are hated.

I don’t wonder.

This Target story is a prime example.

In Target, Michael Turner saved a girl’s life.

She was being attacked by some criminal idiot with a knife.

He jumps in and stops the guy with a baseball bat.

Leon Walls was the attacker.

Allison Meadows was the victim.

Michael Turner jumps in and tackles the guy and chases him OUT OF THE STORE with a baseball bat.

Target turns around and sues Michael Turner.

And lawyers wonder why we are hated.

I don’t know what idiot lawyer decided to sue Michael Turner.

I do know that the lawyer defending Michael Turner should file a Motion to Dismiss and ask for sanctions and attorney’s fees.

I don’t know the history or why Leon Walls was trying to stab Allison Meadows to death.

And I don’t care either.

I do know that there is no way in heck that Michael Turner is responsible for anything at all.

I do know that Michael Turner is a hero.

I do know that this girl might be dead if it wasn’t for Michael Turner.

I also know that Target’s supposed security must have been sleeping while the security monitors were on.

I mean what are the security monitors for if they aren’t to make sure a customer isn’t getting stabbed to death in your store???

And how in the heck can Michael Turner chase this guy out of the store with a baseball bat and no security at Target notice???

Good gracious!

I would hope as a customer we have some expectation that we can shop in Target without getting stabbed to death.

And I would hope as a customer shopping at Target that we can expect Target Security to show up before we get stabbed to death.

My wife shops there.

And if I’m not with her, I darn well expect Target Security to get their head out of their rear-end and pay attention to the stupid security monitors.

Are they in back playing monopoly or something???

My 3 year old daughter goes with my wife shopping.

How in the heck is my 3 year old supposed to defend herself?

I mean what the heck is a security guard for if he isn’t there to help protect the very customers that help keep the store open?

I don’t want to hear some lawyer try to tell me that a security guard is there for some other non-sense.

Here’s the full article in case you want to read it: Target Is Stupid And Lawyers Are Idiots is what I named it.

Target Sues Hero – Don’t Give Me Legal Mumbo Jumbo

And I don’t want to hear some lawyer try to give me some legal mumbo jumbo about what a security guard is.

I know what it is using my own common sense.

A security guard’s job is to protect the customers, FIRST AND FOREMOST.

Nothing else matters UNLESS AND UNTIL that is done because if the customers don’t feel safe then Target is OUT OF BUSINESS.

Let’s just look at what Wikipedia says the definition of security guard is.

Wikipedia says “A security guard, security officer, or protective agent is a private person who is paid to protect an organization’s assets (property, people, money, etc.) from various hazards (such as waste, damaged property, unsafe worker behaviour, criminal activity, etc.) by utilizing preventative measures.  They do this by maintaining a high-visibility presence to deter illegal and inappropriate actions, observing (either directly, through patrols, or by watching alarm systems or video cameras) for signs of crime, fire or disorder; then taking action to minimize damage (example: warning and escorting trespassers off property) and reporting any incidents to their client and emergency services as appropriate.”

So don’t give me some legal baloney about how it isn’t Target’s job to protect customers.

IT IS THEIR JOB.

They are in business to sell to people.

Target doesn’t say to customers, “Bring in your automatic weapons and bullet proof vests while you are shopping here because our stores are unsafe.”

I don’t see that in any Target advertisement.

If they put that advertisement up, Target knows for a fact that stores across this entire country would close tomorrow.

The fact is, if Target Security Guards don’t want to do their PRIMARY job, then they should just close the stores.

But they won’t, because more important to Target than your safety, than your wife’s safety, than your kid’s safety, is their money.

Just ask Michael Turner.
